Author Winegarten to sign books at CTC library

Central Texas College will celebrate Women’s History Month with a book signing featuring several women authors, including Debra Winegarten, on Tuesday, March 25 in the campus library from 2-4 p.m. Winegarten is the author of the young adults biography “Oveta Culp Hobby – Colonel, Cabinet Member, Philanthropist.”

A resident of Austin, TX, Winegarten also penned other books including the award-winning “There’s Jews In Texas” which earned the Poetica Publishing national chapbook contest, “Katherine Stinson: The Flying School Girl” and Mum’s The Word: A Tribute to Ruthe Winegarten.” Winegarten said, “I write lots of biographies for middle-school students, giving them inspirational role models in life. There is way too much gloom and evil being focused on in the world. I want my life to be a beacon for bringing forth beauty, truth, possibility and joy, so I stand in that place when I write.”
